The Brief
Gulf Energy's strategy was to move from bulk fuel and lubricant sales into a retail position, competing directly for the everyday customer rather than operating purely as a wholesale supplier.
OneTwoSix's scope was to design the forecourts, display systems and C-stores that would carry that shift, then apply the design consistently across multiple sites in Kenya.
Design & Rollout
A contemporary, fresh and environmentally conscious look and feel was created to differentiate the Gulf brand from its competitors, an aesthetic that had to work as hard on a forecourt canopy as it did inside the C-store, across a retail format built around fast, high-frequency visits.

The design system was built to travel: forecourt architecture, canopy and signage, fuel display systems and C-store interiors were resolved as a single, repeatable concept and rolled out across several sites rather than treated as one-off installations.
The Result
The rollout gave Gulf Energy a retail identity distinct from the wholesale fuel business it was moving away from, and a consistent customer experience across every site carrying the new design.
It's a smaller-scale version of the same argument that runs through OneTwoSix's banking work: a brand's physical environment either does the work of building trust and recognition, or it doesn't, and a fuel forecourt is no exception.
